Coat of Arms of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Wiltshire |
I took Mary to school again this morning and on my return Richard joined us for a cup of coffee whilst we went through the questions for the Calendar Girls/Lion's Head Quiz on Sunday. I then changed into my Masonic suit and set off for Salisbury - using the Park & Ride and getting the bus into the city centre. I attended an excellent lunch at the Guildhall and was seated with Cavin and Roger who were both being appointed Provincial Grand Stewards. The lunch consisted of cold chicken and ham salad with hot minted potatoes followed by cheese and biscuits accompanied by red wine. The Annual Meeting itself took place at the Salisbury City Hall and was rather unusual in that the widows were allowed to join us for the investiture of the new Provincial Officers and the speeches by the Provincial Grand Master, Deputy Provincial Grand Master and the the Chief Executive of the Masonic Samaritans Fund. I arrived back home at 6 p.m. in time to prepare for tonight's House Group which continues a study into the book of
Hebrews.
