Happy (3rd) Birthday Food for Thought

Another very busy Sunday. Up early and down to St. John's for the Early Morning Eucharist presided over by Elizabeth. The church was packed in contrast to the 20 or so who went to the Praise Service at 9.30 a.m. where Sara and Mary attended. After a quick breakfast Tom and I went up to Barry's Field for the Clarendon FC U13s v. Lsverstock FC U13s. Tom started but after about 20 minutes came off because he was feeling faint and finding it hard to breathe. I found out that he had had no breakfast (having stayed up late to watch the football after last night's panto) and having skipped breakfast because he got up so late. I told him that if he didn't eat properly he was no good to the team or himself. Clarendon did go on to win 3-1 but I am sure they could have done even better if Tom had been able to stay on the pitch. This afternoon we had a well attended Food for Thought service (third birthday) in the Village Hall. Nicola and Hamish treated us to a Scottish theme with bagpipes, haggis and Scottish Dancing. The Church of England's Fresh Expressions leadership were with us and Klynn and Susan must have been pleased at the good turn out. There are now many people attending FFT who do not come to All Saints or St. John's. This means that Outreach within FFT is really working. Next month it's down to me to plan and lead the worship! Tonight I spent a couple of hours with Richard in the Lion's Head - the last Sunday when I need to worry about going to work on the Monday!
