A Royal Engagement

Today the news was full of the announcement of the engagement of Prince William of Wales to Kate Middleton - who would become Queen of England if William ascends the throne in due course. All day the TV news was full of it speculating on when and where the wedding would take place and the design of the dress. At least the speculation about the engagement ring was ended when Kate proudly displayed the sapphire and diamond ring which the Prince of Wales gave to Diana Spencer all those years ago. I have to say that they appeared as a very comfortable happy couple but I did start to get rather fed up of it being constantly on the news. I took Ben for his lunchtime walk again - up Witt Road and up to the Green Barn returning via the field opposite our house and the village hall. Very muddy after all the rain of the last few days. Tonight Sara went out to a Vie meeting in Amesbury. Mary has her new phone operating again and we are waiting for it to connect to the SureSignal system. She is thrilled with it.
