Saints remain second after a draw against Cardiff City

I worked in the study this morning dealing with some matters for a new client including holding a telephone conference with some solicitors in London.  Sara continued to work on her tax return this morning but went out at lunchtime with Bella to collect some Calendar money from shops and businesses in the Romsey area. I picked Mary up from school this afternoon and Sara was excited to announce that her trip to Romsey had revealed that the Calendar had raised the target figure of £15,000 - the cost of the biopsy machine which Salisbury Hospital wanted to purchase.  Well done indeed!  Tonight, Richard joined Tom and me in going to Southampton to attend the Saints v. Cardiff City game.   A win for Southampton tonight coupled with a defeat by West ham would put Saints back on top of the league again.  Unfortunately, Saints could only manage a 1-1 draw but West Ham did lose.  The status quo therefore remains with West Ham at the top but Saints only two points behind with Cardiff a point behind them.  A slight improvement on their position in the league but a real opportunity to go top again was missed tonight.  After the game I bought tickets for Tom and me to go to the Saints v. Millwall FA Cup 4th Round Reply game which will take place on the evening of Tom's birthday next week.  Originally it was intended to have a family dinner at the Water Margin restaurant in North Baddesley but the football match has a stronger "draw".  The winner of that game will play Bolton Wanderers at home.
